Damon and Emily are a lovely couple, very welcoming and interesting. They have created an amazing outdoor arts space in the beautiful countryside. We spent a great afternoon chatting in the sunshine at the Art Park, enjoying cool drinks in the shade of their outdoor shop space veranda, chatting about art and music, with Daman and Ian softly playing the guitar. Daman and Emily were eager to learn more about visual arts in Glasgow and in Scotland, and are keen to make contact with artists around the world.
Artists can exhibit work in the small outdoor gallery spaces that line the path through the gardens to the gallery building. There is also ample space to site sculptures around the grounds. Behind the Gallery building Daman intends to build outdoor studio space for visiting artists in a large field with a river at the bottom. We wish them the best of luck with this next stage of their Art Park. I am keen to visit them again and exhibit my work in the Art Park in the near future, and possibly organise a group show from Scotland.

In the interior of gallery space partitions increase the wall space in the light and airy gallery. The work on exhibition was a group show of international artists working in a variety of media, including painting, photography, collage, textiles and sculpture. The Art Park is keen to hear from artists interested in exhibiting in the outdoor/ indoor spaces, and any ideas for colloborations or arts projects.

Daman Papakiriakou's sculptures in the gallery. Daman showed me a photograph on his mobile of a recent piece that was installed underwater in the beautiful blue Aegean Sea. The work looked stunning set beneath the waves with the natural light flickering through the water adding another dimension to his beautiful work.
